Elance is closing down, and its community is gradually moving to Upwork. After Elance and oDesk joined forces, they decided to focus on a single platform. People may call it good or bad news, but they can't deny the importance and reasoning behind this step. Upwork takes on a huge task of allowing millions of people to work without interruptions during the transition.
The online reputation of MobiDev owes a lot to being #1 in Elance IT company rankings for over a year. Upwork intends to keep the reputation of Elance contractors, and that's something to be thankful for.
Let us recall some crucial dates for all Elance clients:
• This August, new customers will no longer be able to register for Elance.
• From September on, the ability to post new jobs on Elance will be limited.
• Through early 2016, current projects on Elance may be continued; however, new contracts should be started on Upwork. Existing contracts should be also moved to Upwork.
• Through mid-2016, everyone will still be able to access their messages, contacts, and files on Elance.
We are glad to know that Upwork does its best to embrace the best features of the two platforms. We have been working with oDesk and Elance from our very beginning, and we look forward to a painless transition for both clients and contractors. We are optimistic about these changes, and we'll put even more efforts into claiming our reputation on Upwork just like we did on Elance: work hard, exceed all expectations and deliver great products for our Clients.
